Laserfab is thrilled to announce our latest addition to our workshop, the Trumpf TruLaser 3040 12kw Fibre, which marks a significant enhancement to our laser cutting services. The new cutter arrived with us in early February and has been installed & configured by Trumpf technicians. The TruLaser 3040 not only expands our production capacity but also increases the quality of our work, simply integrating into our existing Trumpf machines & software.

Having already experienced the performance of the previous version of this machine on our shop floor, we were impressed with the quality and speed. When the time came to replace one of our exiting CNC laser cutters we knew Trumpf was the right choice for us.

This new fibre laser is an upgrade to replace our last remaining Trumpf CO2 laser cutters, which has faithfully served us. However, after seeing the advancements in speed, efficiency, and cut quality offered by fibre technology, we knew the right choice was to transition our entire laser suite to stay at the forefront of laser cutting technologies.

The new machine will get its gas feed from our nitrogen generators. Which not only secures our supply by generating nitrogen on-site but will form part of our wider commitment to sustainability by eventually being powered by our solar panel system, a project signed off and due to start soon.

Our new Nitrocube nitrogen extraction system provides more than enough gas to run our operations.

Whilst our team has experience with Trumpf machines as with all new devices on-site we have  held a training session to get everyone up to scratch and learn the specifics & safety measures in place with the new cutter. There are also some new technologies which are included with this device which we are excited to learn the full capabilities of.

One of the biggest improvements for our customers will be new functionality offer ed by the machine and especially with new edge finishes. By using the new EdgeLine technologies found in this cutter we can provide chamfers up to 45 ° and countersinks of various sizes, as well as the ability to add rounding to the cut edge of the component. For most customers this new technology will provide additional finishes at a far reduced cost when compared to finishing by hand, for others it may provide a chamfered edge which is difficult or near impossible for a n employee to access by hand.

Our new TruLaser 3040 cuts quicker, uses less gas, creates a better cut, and provides us with new finishing capabilities which we have not had before. We are excited to see how it performs and to start using it on customer projects very soon.
